Rosie Duffield MP is looking to recruit a dynamic, reliable Office Manager to cover a period of maternity leave in her office. This is a fixed-term position for one year.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a small team and running offices in both London and the constituency. The role can be based in either London or Canterbury, but will require travel at leave 2-days per week to the other location.

The role will include coordinating the team's busy workload and being in charge of team contracts, leave and training, As the successful candidate, you will also need to be comfortable liaising with key stakeholders in London, Canterbury and wider Kent. The role also has overall management of the Member’s diary commitments and will be expected to contribute written copy as necessary for articles, parliamentary questions and speeches. The ideal candidate will be IPSA literate and have experience of managing both a small team and a professional budget.

There is the possibility that this could be a 4-day a week role and candidates preferring this option should mention so in their cover letter.

The role demands a dedicated team player who is able to lead, manage and inspire with excellent communication skills and a relentlessly positive outlook whatever the political weather. The ability to be flexible and to take on myriad tasks is essential given the size of the team.

The following skills will be essential:

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills, written and oral

• Evidenced ability to prioritise different projects and work to tight deadlines

The following skills are desirable:

• Evidenced experience of managing a small team.

• Being IPSA literate and having worked for an MP or Peer before.

• A quick writer, who can digest information and sources with speed to produce accurate copy.

Candidates must be sympathetic to the aims and values of the Labour Party.
