Job Details

Role background

BEIS has called on the Committee on Climate Change to advise them on the feasibility of a target for net zero emissions and by which date this could be achieved. At the same time, DEFRA is currently in the process of producing the UK’s first ever Environment Act, which will legislate for UK environmental protection once we leave the UK. The Climate Coalition, and Greener UK, are coming together to combine their supportership and host the first ever environmental and climate lobby. Recent research found that MPs didn’t feel like climate and environmental issues were top of their constituents’ concern list. The same research, however, showed that 63% of British adults believe the UK should be a world leader in climate action. In the summer of 2019, we will have reached a critical moment for both the Net Zero and Environment Act campaigns, and we are planning to join forces and bring as many people from across the country face to face with their MPs to ask them to deliver the changes we need to see.

Coordinate staff working within the Working Group, assigning roles and distributing key tasks.

Manage sign off processes to move plans forward and deliver the mass lobby
