About the role

Do you thrive in a fast paced environment? Are you interested in working for a high profile regulator in an exciting communications environment? Then come and work with us!

This role sits within our Parliamentary, Government and Stakeholder Engagement (PGSE) team, and plays a pivotal role within the Engagement directorate, working closely with the management team and Director of Engagement.

We’re looking for someone who will play an integral role in planning CQC’s short, medium and longer term communications and engagement activity. This will involve managing our Engagement planning grid and working with colleagues across the organisation to map CQC’s key announcements, publications, speeches and events against the external environment. You will be responsible for offering strategic advice to colleagues, including senior directors, on external risks and opportunities to maximise the impact of CQC activities, so an understanding of the health and social care stakeholder environment would be beneficial.

You will work across the PGSE team to design and lead on how we capture insight from our engagement and communications activity. We share this information internally to ensure it informs our future work and to better evaluate our impact.

You will support and advise senior colleagues on speaking engagements, preparing presentations for senior CQC directors as required, both independently and in conjunction with the Planning, Events and Speechwriting Manager. You will also support the delivery of the corporate exhibition programme, to ensure CQC is effectively engaged with all stakeholders around England.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Considerable communications and engagement experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including PowerPoint and research skills
Effective at building relationships and comfortable working with senior colleagues
Experience of developing and communicating messages in a complex environment
Good understanding of the health and social care environment
Enthusiastic and proactive
Project management experience
Excellent time management and ability to work to deadlines
Willing to undertake some overnight UK travel to exhibitions, with notice
