Job Title: Local and Regional Government Liaison Officer
Working For: Thames Water
Salary: up to £40,000 + benefits
You will provide expert advice and leadership on relationships with key personnel in local and regional government and the third sector across London to aid the delivery of our operational projects and regulatory business objectives.
The emphasis of the role lies in positively developing the company’s reputation and profile through mapping, understanding, building and maintaining relationships with key opinion formers in the area.
We can promise that this role will be extremely interesting where no two days are the same. Key duties will include:
Identifying key contacts and stakeholders for major strategic business issues within Local Authority areas. Analyse and communicate stakeholders' long-term positions and objectives working closely with colleagues in Stakeholder Engagement.
Monitoring the political environment in order to identify and advise on emerging issues that could affect the business.
Feeding into the overall stakeholder engagement intelligence to inform the business of local and regional government issues, to guide relevant business units on perceptions and expectations from local/regional government; and to coordinate our approach and key messages for political stakeholders.
Building on existing relationships with MPs and councillors to enhance trust and influence.
Establishing and maintaining robust internal relationships with water and wastewater operations through direct meetings and networking across the business, liaising closely with colleagues in the Stakeholder Engagement team as the in-house experts on local and regional government issues.
Actively develop opportunities to engage in dialogue with local political stakeholders and decision makers to build Thames Water’s visibility and open-up channels for co-operation.
Supporting the Local and Regional Government Manager in developing and implementing a local stakeholder engagement plan for Thames Water.
