Job Title: Constituency Organiser
Working For: Holborn and St Pancras Constituency Labour Party
Salary: £28,029 (incl London Weighting) plus an annual fixed sum allowance of £1,060
We are looking for an Organiser who will invigorate our volunteers and strengthen our links with our Branches, MP, Labour Group councillors, and local community, and help us achieve our primary goal – winning for Labour!
Holborn & St. Pancras Constituency Labour Party (CLP) is an active and vibrant CLP in the heart of a richly diverse Borough with a strong sense of community spirit and political activism. We are a forward-looking CLP where all our members have the opportunity to contribute, campaign, and be involved in our activities. Our deep network of volunteers is a dedicated resource that strengthens our ties to our local branches and the local community.
The Organiser will be responsible for all aspects of Labour Party organisation within the CLP.
The post holder will be responsible for building and maintaining party organisation and activity: preparing the CLP for any upcoming elections; establishing an effective election and campaign organisation; developing the membership; and co-ordinating an effective programme of fundraising to ensure that the constituency party is on a sound financial footing. They will work in liaison with the CLP Officers, the MP, Holborn and St Pancras Labour councillors, the local Party branches, Regional Organiser and other units within the Party.
Amongst a range of attributes, the successful candidate will have:
- Strong communication skills, able to communicate with, work with and engage and lead a range of people from different backgrounds and of different ages
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team
- Strong campaigning skills and experience
- Excellent editorial skills and proven ability to generate and manage print and social media content
- Superlative organisational, administrative and project management skills able to maintain and run a well organised office and deliver campaigns and projects on time and to a good standard.
