 Onward is a new campaigning thinktank whose mission is to renew the centre right for the next generation, by creating a new wave of modernising ideas and a fresh politics that reaches out to new groups of people. Our team has worked in the highest levels of government and existing thinktanks and we have the networks and experience to turn ideas into practical, popular policies that work. We believe in markets that are fair as well as free, government that is strong as well as lean, and freedom balanced by a greater sense of belonging.

We are a not-for-profit organisation. Our advisory board includes leading parliamentarians, business people and former government advisers, including Lord Finkelstein, Martyn Rose, Kemi Badenoch MP, Tom Tugendhat MP, John Lamont MP, Chris Philp MP, Neil O'Brien MP, Baroness Rock, Baroness Fall, Craig Elder, Eleanor Wolfson, James Kanagasooriam, Sian Hansen and Nick Faith.

The Role

We are looking for outstanding candidates to join Onward’s six-month policy internship programme.

The role is suited to ambitious individuals looking to gain experience in social and economic policy and contribute to the political debate in Britain at a time when politics is profound and important ways. If successful, you would work closely with members of Onward’s team to develop our research, manage events with ministers and industry leaders, and provide administrative support to the organisation.

You should ideally have:
- A degree at 2.1 or above
- Excellent writing and intermediate data analysis skills
- An affinity with Onward’s mission and values

Extra points for:
- A desire to get stuck in, learn quickly and take ownership of projects
- Experience with Stata (or equivalent) and Tableau
- Detailed understanding of a policy area linked to Onward’s mission

Commitment: Six months, Full-time, based in Westminster
