Kingston Borough Liberal Democrats and Ed Davey MP are searching for a Campaign Manager to support the local party and MP’s campaigns on a permanent, full-time basis (37.5 hours/week).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Organising and managing the MP’s local campaigns and communications
• Working with the Borough party to manage our campaigns
• Supporting the work of the Council group where appropriate

Kingston upon Thames has a strong network of volunteers. The role will involve encouraging and guiding the work of volunteers and providing strategic direction for the overall campaign. We therefore need someone who has experience in managing a large team of volunteers, with very good inter-personal skills. You will be a strong communicator with excellent attention to detail, and you will listen well to others, creating an inclusive environment where others will feel able to contribute.

Experience
• 2-3 years minimum of running campaigns including managing a general election or local council elections
• Recruiting and motivating a large team of volunteers
• Data-led campaign management and making strategic campaign recommendations
• Drafting and designing campaign literature and producing high-quality campaign material and reports from the MP
• Experience of digital communications, including email lists, mailout systems

Essential skills
• Proficient in use of desktop publishing software (including Serif Pageplus)
• Experience of database software packages (including Connect and Salesforce)
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision, self-motivating and managing your own workload
• Familiarity with current issues within UK politics and sympathetic to the values and principles of the Liberal Democrats

Desirable skills
• Ability to draft press releases
• Website management (including Nationbuilder)
• Knowledge and understanding of the printing and finishing process
• Delivering skills training for volunteers
• Social media management

Other info
• This role will involve some unsociable hours, including evening and weekend work

The role will be split between working for the local party, supporting the Lib Dem Council group and leading campaigns and communications for the MP.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
