We are recruiting for a Policy Officer to join our UK/EU team, supporting and strengthening Wellcome’s impact in Policy & Advocacy.

The Policy team works on a range of issues in the UK, Europe and around the world, delivering targeted interventions that change the way we think and act in health and research, backed by a robust evidence base.

We now have an opportunity for an ambitious and pro-active Policy Officer to join our UK & EU team, supporting and strengthening Wellcome’s impact in Policy & Advocacy.

It is an exciting time to be joining Policy at Wellcome – we’re growing in size and ambition, and we’re working to influence how important issues are handled in the UK, Europe and around the world, including health research, health product development and responses to new health threats.

In the role of Policy Officer you will have the opportunity to lead small projects (and strands of wider projects) to deliver Wellcome’s policy priorities, such as seeking a strong outcome for research on Brexit.

The successful candidate will have:

Highly developed analytical capabilities
An ability to build relationships and convince others to support our goals
A strong understanding of the UK and EU political contexts
A creative approach to how to secure lasting change in complex environments
