Job Details

Our Future, Our Choice! (OFOC!), a youth campaign under the People’s Vote umbrella, is recruiting for a university coordinator to work out of the People’s Vote London offices. We are aiming to fill the role quickly, so candidates are advised to apply ASAP.

The aim of the Universities Officer is to expand OFOC’s national university campaigns. The individual will maintain and grow OFOC’s existing university groups which can then be used to build pressure for a People’s Vote. They will also be responsible for establishing new university groups in institutions where an OFOC group is yet to be set up.

Working in a very busy and active team, you will be a point of contact between university leaders and the internal mobilisation team.

An ideal candidate would:

  • Be able to speak to their passion for pro-European causes
  • Be happy to travel around the country regularly, meeting activists and supporting local groups
  • Have experience working with a political campaign (although this is helpful, it is not absolutely necessary)
  • Have exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Be able to begin work in London on short notice
  • Be comfortable working in a high-pressure environment

Day-to-day tasks for this role would include:

  • Working with existing pro-European groups to identify talented young people to lead OFOC’s local societies and groups.
  • Empowering university leaders to make decisions to expand their group from the bottom up
  • Working with a range of stakeholders (local groups, student unions and MPs) to organise events
  • Travelling to support campaigning and events across the country

Given the need to expand in a short time frame, the Universities Officer will have a central role in OFOC’s day-to-day activities over coming weeks and months.

OFOC works closely with other campaigns in the People’s Vote umbrella network, meaning that while our campaign is autonomous our organisers work closely and learn from the best field team organisers in British politics. This is a full-time, on-site position in London.

We particularly encourage applicants from under-represented backgrounds to apply.

Closing Date: 3 March 2019

Interview/Start Dates

Candidates will be interviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants are therefore strongly advised to apply ASAP.
