We’re looking for a Public Affairs Manager to join the Professional Insights team in London on a permanent basis.

The job
On a day to day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

  • Collating external political intelligence which is then shared across our global teams
  • Keeping ACCA members aware of and, where relevant involved in, our policy and public affairs activities
  • Drafting articles and blogs for a wide range of external and internal audiences on both technical and non-technical issues
  • Drafting Q&A’s and public affairs related briefings and speeches for senior managers, up to CEO level
  • Building and maintaining relationships and networks with a diverse range of external stakeholders and partners, including government departments, regulators, industry groups and employers
  • Horizon scanning to identify opportunities for ACCA to inform political decision making, such as through consultations and other engagement opportunities in order to ensure ACCA’s views are communicated and heard
  • Working closely with the Global Head of Public Affairs to deliver ACCA’s global public affairs strategy

The person
We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Has demonstrable experience of working in public affairs - essential
  • Possesses a proven track record of successfully delivering and implementing public affairs strategies/campaigns in line with agreed KPI’s
  • Has a thorough understanding and direct experience of the UK legislative process
  • Is interested in policy making, the media and has an understanding of how both intersect with politics
  • Has the ability to build strong relationships with a broad range of external stakeholders up to the most senior level, i.e. CEOs, Ministers, senior civil servants
  • Has an analytical approach to problem solving, the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Additional information

  • The post will involve some evening and weekend working in order to represent ACCA at events and conferences, including occasional travel
