We are looking to recruit a policy officer to be a key part of driving this exciting work forward.

About the role

You will be joining the team at an exciting time and will have a range of responsibilities relating to our new influencing plan. You will be an integral member of team, contributing to policy development and influencing through monitoring and analysing developments in the policy environment, remaining on top of key statistics and what they mean for areas of work and drafting impactful comments for the press.

The role will involve producing briefings for the leadership team on key issues, representing the Society at meetings internally and externally and responding to consultations. There is also close involvement in our national campaigning and press work. Reporting to a senior policy officer, you will work within a fast paced Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns team that covers a wide range of topics and issues.

About you

You must have experience of working in a policy related role and would benefit from knowledge of the health and social care policy environment. Strong oral and written communication skills and analytical skills are vital. You will need good interpersonal skills to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You will be able to think strategically, with an organised and flexible approach to planning and prioritising.
