Job Details

"Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world," the great leader Nelson Mandela once said. Our charity, the Policy Centre for African Peoples, was founded in the UK in 2008 to promote social engagement through education and leadership development. To fulfil this mission, we carry out training, educational and leadership development projects.

Our charity is seeking people to work on a voluntary basis on our training project aimed at supporting aspiring young entrepreneurs in the London Borough of Lambeth.

Benefits -Among other benefits, volunteers will:

  • Work at the Youth Innovation Floor, a new, vibrant creative hub at International House in Brixton;
  • Participate in the implementation of youth training programmes designed by an outstanding team from the London Business School;
  • Engage with a wide variety of partners in areas including entrepreneurship, coaching, finance, media and technology;
  • And gain useful skills related to business creation and management, coaching, education, leadership development and mentoring.

We are very flexible in terms of time commitment. The volunteers may choose to work and come to our office at International House, Brixton, only when their schedule and other commitments allow them to do so.

Volunteers willing to do so may assist with activities including supporting the development and realisation of young people's business ideas; mentoring; motivational sessions; role plays and practical exercises.

W4MP Note:
The role being advertised is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and you should be free to come and go as you wish. If the post demands set hours and/or has a specific job description you may be deemed to be a ‘worker’ and be covered by National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage legislation.
