A unique opportunity has arisen to support the work of our Public Affairs and Policy team with our Asylum Support work.Since 2017, we have been stepping up our work in providing expert evidence on the persecution of humanists and the non-religious abroad to support non-religious applicants who are at risk of persecution because of their non-religious beliefs.

We have also worked with the Home Office to introduce new training for asylum decision-makers, which will be rolled out soon, to make sure that asylum claims from non-religious claimants are expertly and fairly handled. We aim to provide high-quality expert advice for non-religious asylum claimants, becoming the leading organisation in the UK in this field.

This area of work has been growing and as a result we need additional voluntary assistance from someone who has experience and an interest in supporting asylum claimants.
