The IoD is the UK’s leading organisation for business leaders. You will use your excellent interpersonal and communication skills to represent the IoD’s members to policy makers and to encourage a climate favourable to entrepreneurial activity and wealth creation as well as promote high standards and appropriate regulation of corporate governance in the UK.

The responsibilities are varied and include creating and implementing public affairs strategies, maintaining and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, taking particular responsibility for skills and regulation policy, assisting the Interim DG for External Affairs in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the IoD’s policy team, working closely with the IoD’s communication team to maximise the IoD’s impact in the media and acting as representative for the IoD.

You will have a calm and resourceful manner when dealing with difficult situations and be agile in your approach to getting things done. You will be capable of building rapport at all levels in a confident, open and honest manner. With relevant policy work experience, direct experience of working on business policy issues being beneficial, you will have a strong understanding of the policy-making process and current political environment.
