Do you want to systemically change the nature of university access? Are you ready to build our organisation to ten times its size in the next three years?
A state school student is five times less likely to go to a Russell Group University than a privately educated student, even when they have the same grades. Project Access is a charity that unlocks top universities for disadvantaged students through online mentorship to bring systemic change to the sphere of university access. Our mentorship model is effective, low-cost and scalable, and within the next few years we want to be able to build up the infrastructure to mentor 10,000 students each year so that we can comprehensively tackle this problem.
We’re looking for a hungry, impact-driven individual who wants to make this organisation reach its true potential. In the next three years we think we can revolutionise the access space in the way that Teach First revolutionised the teaching space, or in the way that the Brilliant Club changed academic study in schools.
You’ll work closely with our current CEO Anna during the first month to learn the ropes, and then set out to recruit the team you’ll need to help you build this up. You’ll have the support of the amazing international team to help you with strategy as well as a strong trustee board to guide you as you take this to the next level.
The right candidate for this role will
- Have a passion for solving the access issue
- Have a drive to get things done and grow quickly
- Be interested in technology-enabled impact
- Get excited rather than overwhelmed by a highly ambitious goal
Taking this on will be like starting your own charity start-up, but with a well-developed starting point and user base. It will not be easy, and you will have to take charge and shape everything according to what you think will be the best path for the charity – from making growth predictions and budgets, to hiring a team, to pitching to new university partners and working with a tech team to ensure the platforms serve our mission in the best way possible.
You’ll have a lot of support and a great community around you, but the decisions, direction and growth will ultimately be in your hands. If this sounds exciting to you, then you may be the perfect fit!
