Demos is looking to recruit a talented communications professional to act as our voice and deliver key messaging to external groups such as our funders, supporters, the public,
politicians and the media.

Within this remit, our Communications Officer will ensure that Demos has a detailed understanding and map of the political and social landscape, in order to identify key opportunities to increase Demos’ influence amongst target audiences including MPs, journalists, civil society organisations and other key stakeholder groups.

Reporting directly to Demos’ Director of External Affairs, the post holder will write, edit, co-ordinate and publish content across various channels (including Demos’ website, social media, printed materials). They will also plan and implement communications campaigns to raise awareness of the organisation’s activities and publications. In doing so they will find themselves at the centre of public conversations on issues including but not limited to housing, artificial intelligence, domestic poverty and the future of social media.

The role will involve raising the organisation’s profile across different media platforms and in the public and political eye. The Officer will be expected to help develop Demos’ brand and discover insights into how different audiences respond to Demos’ content and visual identity.
