Job Details

We're looking for someone who can shoot and edit small videos as well as manage social media and work with graphics software such as Photoshop, Indesign and/or Illustrator.

Working for the Shadow Digital Minister, you'll be continuing our work in one of the most open and innovative offices in Westminster - always ensuring that constituents and the general public are kept up to date with our latest work and informed about what's going on in politics.

You’ll be shooting interviews and B-roll at events and in the office then editing them for sharing on social media. You’ll need to be a dab hand at adding subs, bringing spark to sometimes unglamorous topics through informative animations and working to VERY short turn arounds!

There’s also a degree of copywriting in the role – making sure our written communications are accurate, engaging and frequent. This is usually done via social media but any experience writing newsletter emails or press releases would be invaluable. You’ll also need to be confident to design and order print products ranging from flyers to  booklets.

You may also take a lead on website management – ensuring that the latest comms are shared on the site in a high quality format. Any experience with Wordpress and CiviCRM would be appreciated.

Finally, you should be passionate about working hard to make good change happen! We’re a small team where you’ll be getting involved with all aspects of our output so you’ll need a muck-in spirit and a motivation to do work that helps others. A knowledge and understanding of Parliament would be an advantage, as would a firm grasp of current, political issues. You must have a commitment to Labour Party values.

Immediate start.

Essential Skills:
• Basic self-shooting (on a Canon 5D mkii or your own camera or mobile)
• Editing (Adobe CC preferred)
• Basic animation
• Graphic design
• Copywriting
• Social Media management
• Preparing assets for print
• Website management

Closing Date: 19 April 2019
