PGI’s Intelligence are looking for a candidate with excellent research, analytical and writing skills to build on the capability of our dynamic Intelligence team. For this role, an understanding of the politics and business environment of key markets in South Asia is essential and working knowledge of relevant regional languages such as Hindu and Urdu.

Responsible for monitoring, reviewing and updating content on the Risk Portal, you will develop a regional and sectoral level of expertise which will be applied to retained and bespoke geopolitical reporting.

The role is fast paced and will involve working on multiple client projects. You will be required to attend external events representing PGI and provide wider research assistance to the Intelligence team.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will perform independent research and analysis for bespoke client projects. This role will require good research skills obtained from professional and academic experience. Experience in delivering corporate research strongly preferred.
  • Ability to write client-ready intelligence and to easily adapt to PGI’s house style is essential. Previous proofing and editorial experience is a distinct advantage. You will play a key role in the internal peer-review process which requires a keen eye for detail and experience in cross-referencing and fact-checking of information. 
  • Monitoring of client relevant sector risks, building up interest and expertise including key markets, niche risks, competitor activities, sector dynamics and trends

Essential Skills:

Language skills: Hindu and Urdu

A good understanding of online monitoring, sector focus on terrorist groups operations and capabilities.

Proven experience regularly working to tight deadlines. Ability to respond quickly to client requests and produce high quality work with a quick turnaround.

Confident open-source research skills including social media. Design or infographic skills would be a bonus

You must be a confident communicator willing to engage in discussion with team members and clients.

Excellent academic credentials. Masters-level preferred but not essential, ideally in either regional studies, or a social science such as international relations, politics, history or law.
