Our Policy team make sure that we are well positioned within the policy community, so that we can influence and drive forward this valuable activity. Work in recent years has focused on areas such as modern slavery and quality in the construction industry.

We’re looking for a Policy Officer who wants to join a great team, in a role where they can make a real contribution. If you think you could be right for this role, here are some of the key things you’ll get involved with;

  • Supporting the development and delivery of our political engagement strategy
  • Providing regular advice and support on policy matters to colleagues across the CIOB;
  • Conducting research and drafting responses to Parliament and Government consultations;
  • Monitoring policy developments and identifying opportunities for future activity; and
  • Representing the CIOB publicly, engaging and building relationships with key policy makers, legislators and other stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you’ll bring demonstrable experience in a policy or public affairs role, where you’ve consistently demonstrated thought leadership, writing, research, presentation and communication skills. You’ll be enthusiastic and flexible, ready to use your own judgement and initiative on a daily basis. Most importantly – you’ll love working in the policy arena, and if you have experience of the construction industry and built environment, or working in a professional body, all the better!
