We are looking for a politically-aware person who shares the values of the Labour Party, to join the strong team supporting the Leader of the Council and Labour Group councillors at one of the country’s most dynamic and innovative local authorities.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain invaluable experience in the world of politics. Working in a busy and dynamic office, you will contribute to achieving our ambition of making Islington a fairer place for all.

In addition to providing administrative support to councillors and the Labour Group Office, you will provide political advice on a wide range of issues. You will produce letters, speeches and articles, as well as writing briefings and maintaining strong internal communications to aide councillors in their work at the Council and in their communities.

You should have experience of working in a political environment, ideally directly in support of elected representatives. The role would suit someone looking to build on their existing knowledge and experience of politics and that is looking to put ideas into practice.

You must be flexible in how you work and enjoy working with others, and be comfortable with regular evening work and managing competing priorities.

A friendly and positive personality is essential, as well as a problem-solving attitude and the ability to respect confidentiality.
