Job Details

Want to build a business where every voice counts, and contribute to improving the most complex and controversial of public projects?

Traverse helps organisations to understand what the communities and people affected think about their projects and proposals. We use transparent processes and evidence-based tools to engage and weigh every voice, personal and professional, whether loudly proclaimed or seldom heard. We work with governmental, third sector and businesses delivering public services or social change. Our clients rely on us when the issues are thorny and good decisions matter; from health and social care integration to airport expansion, social isolation to the future of energy generation.

Established in 1989 as the UK’s first employee-owned “public interest” company. Today, we are a highly successful and fast-growing research and consultancy organisation. Passionate about making a difference and motivated to deliver high quality services and outcomes for our clients.

We are recruiting consultants to join our growing team. Consultants at Traverse work closely with senior consultants and principals, often supporting the delivery of several projects at any one time. This will be across sectors and will include providing research, analysis, evaluation, facilitation, project management and coordination support. Consultants work at one of three levels: Support and Research; Established; or Experienced. At present we are specifically interested in appointing in the Established and Experienced categories, which means candidates will already have some project management experience. We would expect this to include:

  • Liaising with clients and senior stakeholders/colleagues about project design and project progress
  • Managing the allocation of tasks to other team members and providing support where required
  • Designing methodologies and materials (e.g. for interviews and workshops); and/or developing coding frameworks; and/or leading focus groups and table facilitating at workshops; and/or leading on analysis and reporting.
  • Supporting work-winning through contributing to proposal-writing and fostering good client relationships.

You will need the flexibility to work across a range of disciplines and sectors. Travelling to clients’ premises/ stakeholders’ meetings outside London several times a month may be required.
