Ranil Jayawardena is seeking two highly motivated individuals to support his constituency work during the expected summer recess. This role will place you at the heart of his work in North East Hampshire and provide valuable insight into his work as the local Member of Parliament - and offer the opportunity to gain political and campaigning experience too, should you wish.

Duties include:

  • Data entry and analysis;
  • Assisting with literature design;
  • Resident surveying;
  • Office administration;
  • Diary management;
  • Organising events and fundraising;
  • Drafting press releases; and
  • Digital campaigning.

Skill and Values:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Hardworking, flexible, pro-active team player;
  • Strong communication and organisational skills and able to take the initiative;
  • Good IT skills;
  • A creative side; and
  • Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
