Dods, the market leading political information service in the UK, is recruiting a freelance Political Analyst to assist in the content team.

Dods Monitoring
Providing clients from across the policy spectrum with fast, accurate, and comprehensive intelligence on the activities of legislatures, government and executives agencies, and stakeholders - ensuring they stay ahead of the issues that matter to them.

Responsibilities
Supporting a large client portfolio by sourcing, categorising and processing content from:

  • Commons and Lords Hansard, and a number of other Parliamentary sources
  • The official reports of the Scottish Parliament, National Assembly for Wales and Northern Ireland Assembly
  • Central Government departments - NDPBs and executive agencies
  • Stakeholders across portfolios, including energy, international development, transport, health, local government, environment, finance, business, education, defence, justice and home affairs amongst others

The role involves reading content on an online dashboard and categorising it according to a taxonomy system, to tight deadlines.

There are a number of different shifts available when Parliament is sitting between 6am and 5pm, making it ideal for those with other commitments or for graduates or students looking to work part-time. The capacity to start at 6am GMT would be preferred.

We are seeking motivated team players with a keen eye for detail and ability to demonstrate an organised and deadline orientated approach to their work.

Applicants should possess a basic understanding of parliamentary processes and news cycles.

Previous experience in a public affairs or parliamentary role would be advantageous but is not strictly necessary.

Location
This role can be worked remotely and is open to applicants throughout the UK or within the EU.
