Role outline

As Campaigns Organiser you will develop, deliver and continuously evaluate the pilot of a new approach to local campaigning for the Trussell Trust, using and adapting a community organising model. You will identify and build relationships with a small number of food banks, partner organisations and people with lived experience of poverty, who you will train and support to campaign locally. You will also help empower and enable the wider food bank network, the public and partner organisations join national campaigns.

This is an exciting time to join the Trussell Trust, as we trial our new ways of harnessing the huge potential of the food bank network to create change. It’s unacceptable that people are struggling to eat because they simply cannot afford food and, as Campaigns Organiser, you will play an important role in helping end the need for food banks in the UK.

About you:

You will be a skilled and experienced organiser with a passion for connecting with new people and campaigning for change at a local and national level. You are excited at the prospect of helping the Trussell Trust work out how best a community organising approach can work for the food bank network. You’ll be a great communicator and political geek who works well to deadlines, can think strategically and enjoys working on several projects at once. Ideally, you’ll also have some experience of online campaigning.
