We are seeking a security/political risk analyst for an exciting role embedded in a client company, a major global multinational with a global footprint. The role will involve analysing global security and political risk developments from the perspective of major multinational corporations. The role is initially to for maternity leave cover, but also presents an opportunity to join our rapidly expanding global analyst team
The analyst will also contribute to writing the Assynt Report, our flagship intelligence product. This is an analytical service for major companies operating in emerging markets, which on security issues, terrorism and political stability, and the impact of these on focuses the commercial and operational environment of these countries.
Responsibilities & Skills
The role is embedded in a long-standing client company. Time commitment would be split between the client and Falanx Assynt. For work in the client company, the analyst will undertake a wide range of intelligence functions demanding an innovative and adaptable approach.
- Bachelors’ degree or higher
- Excellent understanding of principal geopolitical risks and how they affect the private sector
- Excellent analytical judgement, as well as capability to identify political and security issues and likely consequences and how they affect commercial operations
- Advanced understanding of major political and security risks in Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America strongly preferable
- Foreign languages
- Exposure to and understanding of financial reports and assessment
- At least two years' work experience in a related field
- Be a diligent and cooperative member of a global team of analysts providing rigorous and forward thinking analysis
- To be able to write clearly, simply, imaginatively and compellingly
- A good sense of what matters to commercial clients
- Strong self-discipline and attention to detail
- The ability to get up to speed quickly on a country of which you may have little or no experience and to speak knowledgeably and confidently on such matters in a client environment
- To be able to identify political and security issues and their likely commercial consequences
- Manage and grow relationships with relevant stakeholders at Falanx Assynt and the client
