Preet Gill MP has a vacancy for a Constituency Assistant based in her constituency office, working alongside three experienced colleagues. Experience of working in the community will be helpful and the ability to learn quickly is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attending surgeries and other meetings in order to assist the Member in responding to issues raised by constituents;
  • Working with and managing key stakeholder relationships;
  • Acknowledging and addressing queries from members of the public within the Edgbaston constituency on a range of local and national issues;
  • Assisting with administrative tasks to help with the day-to-day running of the office.

Key qualities:

Candidates should be highly literate in written and oral skills. They should be highly organised with very strong attention to detail, and have a genuine passion to serve the public to the best of their ability. They should also be able to clearly show that they are able to work well with others in a constructive manner and use their initiative where necessary. They should have a driving licence and access to a car. Finally, candidates must be able to show a commitment to the aims and values of the Labour Party.

Please note that this vacancy is for 4 days a week, which must include Thursday and Friday.
