Job Title: Constituency Assistant
Working For: Preet Kaur Gill MP (Birmingham, Edgbaston)
Location: Birmingham Edgbaston
Salary: In line with IPSA pay scales, dependent on experience
Preet Gill MP has a vacancy for a Constituency Assistant based in her constituency office, working alongside three experienced colleagues. Experience of working in the community will be helpful and the ability to learn quickly is essential.
- Attending surgeries and other meetings in order to assist the Member in responding to issues raised by constituents;
- Working with and managing key stakeholder relationships;
- Acknowledging and addressing queries from members of the public within the Edgbaston constituency on a range of local and national issues;
- Assisting with administrative tasks to help with the day-to-day running of the office.
Candidates should be highly literate in written and oral skills. They should be highly organised with very strong attention to detail, and have a genuine passion to serve the public to the best of their ability. They should also be able to clearly show that they are able to work well with others in a constructive manner and use their initiative where necessary. They should have a driving licence and access to a car. Finally, candidates must be able to show a commitment to the aims and values of the Labour Party.
Please note that this vacancy is for 4 days a week, which must include Thursday and Friday.
