Creative Access is a not-for-profit organisation set up to bring new talent to the creative industries. It provides opportunities for paid internship for young people of graduate (or equivalent) standard from under-represented black, Asian, and other minority ethnic backgrounds (BAME) or those from a lower socioeconomic background. It aims to improve their chances of securing full-time jobs and, in the longer term, increase diversity and address the imbalance in the sector.
The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day administration relating to recruitment, events, and our support programme for Creative Access interns and alumni. The role will involve working across all areas – from liaising with candidates and clients, university outreach and assisting with high profile events, to gathering content, research and marketing. You will also play a key role in supporting the Chief Executive, Josie Dobrin who was included in the book industry’s 100 most influential people, two years running, by The Bookseller.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promoting the work of Creative Access, interns and alumni via press and social media
- Write blogs and news items for the Creative Access website
- Creating newsletters for employer partners, interns and candidate database
- Supporting the organisation of induction days, masterclasses and creative industry showcases
- Attending events to represent Creative Access
- Provide admin support to the CEO
- Support the Creative Access development scheme
- Posting our roles on our website, recruitment system and university job boards
- Assisting with email enquiries, media companies and candidates
- Creating presentations and posters
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- An interest in diversity issues and a genuine interest in what is going on across the creative sector
- Hardworking, detail orientated and a team player
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes, especially Excel
- Good social media skills and experience across multiple platforms
- Experience of Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress and Hootsuite would be ideal
- Good time management, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines
