As our new Evidence and Evaluation Officer, you will be working in the Socio-economic Analysis and Evaluation team, gathering and analysing information relating to the economic and social value of the historic environment. You will also be involved in projects that measure the performance and impact of Historic England and its projects and activities.

In this role, you will help to make the case for the historic environment through published advocacy-focussed research, including our annual publication, Heritage Counts. You will help to ensure that govenrment stakeholders including DCMS, Cabinet Office, HM Treasury and other relevant Departments have summaries of data and evidence delivered in ways that robustly demonstrate the value of heritage and the historic environment. You will also help to develop the Public Value Framework, supporting the evaluation of projects and programmes and developing reliable measures of performance. You will work with colleagues to ensure that data are being analysed and properly factored into the Framework.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience of research, evaluation and data analysis. You will have good knowledge of social science research methods and techniques, with the ability to interpret and analyse quantitative and qualitative data and use this to draw useful insights. You are proficient in Excel, and hold a breadth of IT skills, including Word and PowerPoint. A good team player, you are able to support colleagues, work and think independently, and be able to deal effectively and persuasively with a wide range of people at all levels.
