  • Part time 21-28 hours per week
  • Location: Watford, with occasional attendance at meetings in central London. Flexibility to work from home for part of the week.
  • Reporting to: Policy and Campaigns Manager

We are the only collective voice for more than 80 national and regional brain and spine organisations working together to make life better for people with a neurological condition. You will be joining and helping to grow a small but dynamic, ambitious and successful organisation, which, in collaboration with our member organisations, has raised the profile of neurological conditions like never before. 

At a time of change and enormous pressure for the health and social care sector, it is vital that we keep this momentum going to make sure neurology is a national policy priority and that this is translated into vital neurological service improvements. The role of the Alliance has never been more important and as Policy and Campaigns Assistant, you will help us to deliver our exciting policy and campaigns strategy.

About the role

In this role, you will assist our team in shaping and driving forward our policy and campaigns work, helping to ensure that we stay ahead of developments in the policy environment, have the evidence we need to influence decision makers, and we are working collaboratively with our members and wider stakeholders.

The Alliance aims to attract and retain the best staff. To this end we offer the opportunity for flexible working. This can include some home working. Regular 1:1s as well as team meetings form an important part of our management approach and are used as a support and enabling mechanism to help you achieve your work objectives. We invest in our staff and provide opportunities for training and development.

About you

To meet the challenge, you will need to be a highly motivated individual with demonstrable interest in developing a career in policy and campaigns. You may be a recent graduate or be further on in your career and looking to change direction. You will have proven administrative abilities and experience in undertaking desk-based research. You will possess an excellent standard of English and demonstrable written communications skills. You will be a team player, with excellent interpersonal skills.
