Job Title: Employed Intern
Working For: Rehman Chishti MP (Gillingham and Rainham)
Salary: In line with IPSA pay scales
Rehman Chishti MP is seeking an enthusiastic individual to work as Employed Intern in his Westminster office for a 3-6 month period. The successful candidate will have a keen interest in politics and current affairs and have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Conducting research and producing briefings
- Replying to general correspondence
- Various administrative tasks
This position will provide an excellent opportunity for candidates to further enhance their CVs and gain valuable political and office-based experience. The opportunity would suit a recent graduate or an individual who is looking to learn more about how Westminster works.
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Interviews likely to be held w/c 1 July. Ideally we would like the successful candidate to start soon after the interview date but there is flexibility.
