Job Title: Assistant Private Secretary and Correspondence Manager roles

Salary: £26,808 (London) or £23,895 (National), with possibility of overtime
These roles offer a unique chance to develop and test your skills at the heart of government. You will play a pivotal role in an environment where no two days are the same, helping the department tackle some of the country’s most pressing challenges, from homelessness to the housing crisis.
As part of MHCLG’s Ministerial Group, you will have day-to-day exposure to Ministers, putting your innovative ideas into action to influence policies and strategy, and negotiating with other government departments.
In this fast-paced and rewarding role you will work alongside colleagues at the top of their fields. A fantastic springboard for any career in the Civil Service, we will support your career development through training, development and hands-on experience, while expecting the successful candidate to stay in post for a minimum of one year.
We are looking for applications from candidates who are strong communicators, ambitious, strategic and organised. These roles are only available on a full-time basis, and role dependent may require some late working, additional hours and travel when accompanying ministers. A private office allowance or overtime is payable where this applies.
