Digital, data and technology are crucial to the health and care system and a top priority for the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. The Chief Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State is responsible for delivering the Department of Health and Social Care's Tech Vision published in The Future of Healthcare: Our vision for digital, data and technology in health and care (2018).

The Executive Assistant to the Chief Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State will provide administrative and organisational support. They will manage a busy inbox and diary to ensure that the Chief Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State is using their time in the most effective and efficient way.

This is an ideal position for an able and ambitious candidate who is looking to expand and refine their skillset in a demanding environment. This position provides an exciting opportunity to understand decision making at the very highest levels of digital and technology in the health and care sectors.

The Chief Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State’s office is friendly and supportive. Once the successful candidate is able to manage their key responsibilities the team will help them to gain exposure and develop their skills in areas they are interested in. There will be an opportunity to gain experience acting as an Assistant Private Secretary and to deputise for the Private Secretary where necessary.

The Executive Assistant to the Chief Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State does not need to have any technical skills but does need to be interested in the role of digital, data and technology across the health and care system.
