media officer – six month fixed term contract

We have an opportunity for a media officer to help us do exactly that.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small media team to work on complex and high-profile financial issues. We’re looking for an experienced media officer to join our media team, to help us manage our relationship with the media. By understanding the strategic issues that the ombudsman faces, and building trusted relationships at all levels, you’ll play a key role in shaping our response to an ever-changing world.

You’ll be part of a media team that works across a broad range of financial topics – sometimes including sensitive, complex and high-profile issues.

You’ll be responsible for helping to deliver our media strategy by covering both reactive and proactive media work, for which some out-of-hours wok will be required.

With a background in media, you’ll have a developed and finely honed news sense, excellent judgement and outstanding media skills. You’ll also have worked with a broad range of media contact which helps us build effective working relationships with the media.
