Job Title: Senior Account Manager
Working For: Built Environment Communications Group
Location: Winchester, Hampshire
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum
What it's all about
We are looking for a talented individual with a background in public affairs, politics, communications and/or public consultation. The suitable candidate will have experience working within the built environment and property sectors, with experience of working with a network of political contacts. You will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and self-starting individual with a passion for operating across the public affairs, stakeholder engagement and community consultation sectors. You are outgoing and adaptable and able to build rapport quickly both internally and externally. With a commercial focus, you are driven to build client accounts and develop new business across a range of sectors.
Desirable experience includes:
- Advising clients on public affairs, public consultation, stakeholder engagement and media relations strategies
- An excellent communicator, with strong writing and personal skills
- Clear understanding of the local planning and/or public affairs sector
- Existing relationships with politicians, media, and prospective clients
- A strong commercial understanding, and experience of working in an agency setting
- Demonstrable background in growing client accounts and securing virgin new business wins
Responsibilities and Duties
You will be responsible for supporting Directors in executing creative engagement strategies to help achieve your clients’ objectives across a range of sectors. You will be required to liaise directly with clients, ensuring the effective delivery of all projects within your portfolio, advising on and executing effective strategies on time and within budget. Supported by Account Executives, you need to have a broad communications skill-set in order to deliver work across a range of mediums whether that be liaising with the media, politicians or producing written consultation collateral.
There will be a strong emphasis on new business development in order to grow the BECG presence and client base in the South.
