Job Details

DExEU is the department tasked with delivering on the historic decision of the British people to leave the EU. We're committed to delivering Brexit and building a successful future for our country outside the EU. Could you play a role in this unique and crucial work?

As a member of the Policy and Delivery Coordination Directorate, you will manage an interesting portfolio of work on domestic economic issues. Taking the lead in scrutinising the policy work that is being produced by multiple Government departments, you will be the go-to person for key stakeholders, identifying areas that may be problematic and coming up with innovative solutions. Working at pace, you will be ready to respond to large volumes of information, balancing the needs of various departments including the Cabinet Office, HM Treasury, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and the Department for International Trade. This is a challenging and rewarding role that will present you with the opportunity to write briefings for senior officials and Ministers, and challenge you to offer your expert opinion on policy issues.

With your input aimed at maximising economic opportunities post-EU, this is a great chance to build your expertise in tackling high profile challenges. To excel in this important role, you will therefore ideally have experience in the policy profession, in an area such as trade, economics or regulation. Regardless of your employment history, you will be able to balance multiple priorities, and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You will also have a flexible approach, with the capacity to work in partnership with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve the best results. Crucially, you will be a problem-solver who is able to meet tight deadlines, gathering and analysing information from a wide variety of sources to make effective evidence-based decisions.

At DExEU, our people are our greatest asset. We therefore offer a wide-ranging benefits package, and can offer full-time, part-time, flexible or job-share working arrangements – meaning you can find a work/life balance that works for you. With plenty of support from your colleagues and exceptional networking opportunities, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play your part in the UK’s future economic success.
