We empower students with the knowledge, confidence and skills to look after their own mental health and support others through our student led-peer support groups, student wellbeing campaigning, and workshops delivered by trained university staff.

Policy Manager
Location: Leeds (flexible working arrangements available)
Accountable to: Head of Engagement
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Pay: £20,000 - £28,000
Purpose: To develop, coordinate and support the policy information and influencing needs of the charity

We want students to thrive at university and are looking for an experienced and successful policy advisor to play a key part in our work to influence UK universities and the NHS, by providing policy support to members of our team and our wider network. This role will involve horizon scanning the different sectors that we operate in, keeping your finger on the pulse with policy developments within youth mental health, higher education, healthcare and accommodation, to prepare reports, presentations and briefing tools for internal and external audiences. 

Peer Support Manager
Location: Leeds, with occasional travel across the UK required (all expenses reimbursed).
Accountable to: Head of Operations
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Pay: £20,000 - £28,000
Purpose: To manage and develop Student Minds’ peer support projects, working with student volunteers and staff contacts across the UK

We know students are most likely to turn to their friends for support in the first instance. We empower students to facilitate formal peer support groups to support fellow students experiencing mental health difficulties. Our volunteers equip their peers with the tools to take positive action and set their own goals to support their wellbeing.

This role will be responsible for managing and developing our peer support initiatives, liaising with both staff and students at universities across the UK to set up new groups, recruit volunteers, plan and deliver training for students, and provide ongoing support.
