Job Details

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly, committed team in Bristol. This job is an opportunity to support real change. You will help us shape the future of drug policy by linking evidence, people and politics.

The successful candidate will support Transform’s research and policy activities by engaging with key policy partners; monitoring national and global policy developments; producing accessible, high-quality research outputs; and contributing to public communications.

Transform is committed to diversity and equality in all its work. We welcome and encourage Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic applicants as these are underrepresented in our sector.

Main duties

You will help develop and support relationships with key policy stakeholders through monitoring Parliamentary debates, helping to produce briefings, and managing our parliamentary affairs database. You will also play a key role in helping us monitor policy and research developments through tracking new research findings, key data, news reports and other outputs. In addition, you will support the production of our regular, public-facing research and policy updates for publication on our website, aimed at a general audience.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who loves the prospect of linking research and policy in this area. You will enjoy digging out information, but also sharing it in an accessible and persuasive way. You will also be excited at the opportunity to work with policymakers at all levels: understanding their interests and concerns, and helping find ways to engage them in the drug policy debate.

Our ideal candidate will have previous involvement in policy-oriented activities or advanced forms of policy analysis, as well as using or analysing research materials. They will have a strong understanding of politics and policy processes. They will also have an understanding of critical issues around diversity and inequality in the field of drug policy, and a commitment to using their skills to help Transform reduce drug harms across all communities.

Closing Date: 19 August 2019

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews will be held on the week commencing 9th September.
