Tearfund has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, strategic thinker with a proven track record of developing relationships with UK Government Departments, both internationally and at headquarters.

The role will be responsible for leading Tearfund's Global funding relationship with the UK Government, and will involve close collaboration with Tearfund's Senior Government Relations Advisor, technical experts and Tearfund's international programmes.

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience of senior representation
• A strong understanding of the UK Government's strategic direction (particularly DFID and the FCO), priorities and procedures
• Excellent presentation and communication skills and
• Extensive experience in leading on proposal development, working with complex budgets and grant management.

This role will involve proactively scoping new opportunities and accompanying staff in the development and implementation of programme funding strategies. This will include travel overseas to develop funding relationships and increase in-country capacity through training to acquire and manage UK Government funding.
