Shaffaq Mohammed MEP is seeking a dynamic and organised Communications Manager to form part of his Yorkshire and Humber Constituency Office.

You will have at least 2 years’ experience with local and regional media. You will need political and planning skills as well as the ability to feed into the overall strategy for Shaffaq’s work and collaborate with the Liberal Democrat European Group Media Officer and Shaffaq's Chief of Staff based in Brussels to deliver an overall media plan and in the region. You will manage Shaffaq’s regional social media presence utilising it to build up his media presence and engage with constituents in dynamic and innovative ways. You will have an awareness of Liberal Democrat politics and sympathy with our values.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop, monitor and deliver a positive public profile for Shaffaq Mohammed, working with Shaffaq’s Chief of Staff based in Brussels.
• Achieve excellent media coverage for Shaffaq right across the region in both regional and local media outlets as well as coverage in national media outlets.
• Monitoring key regional/local media outlets, drafting letters and press releases as well as building up a range of contacts across the region.
• Develop and maintain Shaffaq’s website and social media.
• Provide support and advice to Shaffaq and other staff on the media.
