Job Title: Social Enterprise Intern

Working For: Get Further

Location: London

Salary: £75 a day

Length of Contract:

Job Details

Get Further is a further education social enterprise that supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds to improve their English and maths skills and gain these key qualifications. Students on the Get Further programme receive high-quality catch-up tuition – at no cost to the student – aided by a bespoke post-16 curriculum and support for independent study.

As an intern, you will work directly with the Chief Executive and Programmes Manager to support the delivery of our 2019/20 tuition programmes. This will involve producing an event plan and providing logistical support for training our new tutors and inducting students to ensure the programme gets off to a flying start. The internship will also involve providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the programme day-to-day, including inputting data into our CRM system, monitoring and evaluating attendance during the programme and following up on queries from students and tutors.

This internship is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving social mobility and tackling educational inequality. It will be of particular interest to someone wanting to gain knowledge and experience of the education sector and social enterprise. While the internship offers the chance to build transferable skills in communication, relationship management and project management, there will also be opportunities to support the social enterprise across many other aspects of its work. As a new education start-up, you will take a leading role on projects and see first-hand the impact of your work.

Get Further is committed to the quality of the internship programme we offer. The successful candidate will be offered genuine learning and development opportunities. You will also have the opportunity to accompany our Chief Executive, Sarah Waite, a former Political Advisor to the Shadow Education Secretary and Head of Policy at the Social Mobility Commission, to meetings with influential leaders in the education sector and community.
