About us

Home to a rich cultural heritage that draws visitors in their millions, the City of London sits at the heart of our thriving capital. Modern icons including the Gherkin and Heron Tower grace our skyline alongside historic landmarks such as St Paul’s Cathedral and Mansion House – the official home and office of the Lord Mayor of London.

Every year, over 50,000 businesses, workers and residents use the spectacular setting of Mansion House for a variety of meetings, charity functions, conferences and civic engagements.

The role

You’ll be lead co-ordinator for a substantial proportion of the Lord Mayor’s (and civic party’s) public activities programme. Covering both domestic and overseas activity, your remit will support business, civic, ceremonial and charitable functions.

This visible and busy role will see you liaising with prominent stakeholders and VIPs, preparing and following up on all visits (including diplomatic missions overseas), developing agendas, chairing team meetings, briefing on arrangements, forecasting and monitoring visit budgets, maintaining live programmes and policing visit timelines, among much else.

About you

An excellent communicator, organiser and relationship-builder, you’ll need sound logistical events planning experience plus proven ability to oversee complex and multifaceted schedules. The ability to develop and run watertight admin processes is vital, as is experience of arranging business travel. On a personal level, you’ll need to be a good negotiator, researcher, multi-tasker and budget manager. If you have a relevant A-level or National Vocational qualification, even better.

Closing Date: 16 August 2019

Interview/Start Dates

The deadline for receipt of applications will be 12 noon on the closing date.
