Bright Blue is an independent think tank for liberal conservatism. We are looking for a Communications and Editorial Manager.
We are looking for an individual who is creative, expressive and entrepreneurial, but also who is intellectually rigorous and with excellent attention to detail. We want a candidate who passionately believes in and can clearly articulate Bright Blue’s principles and ideas.
Communications
- Managing our press office
- Generating and securing opportunities for the Bright Blue research team to be regularly represented in newspapers and magazines, or on TV and radio
- Framing and promoting Bright Blue’s arguments and policies for our reports, articles and public appearances
- Devising and executing a marketing and communications strategy for Bright Blue’s research and analysis
- Representing Bright Blue in the media and at events, and becoming a recognised figure in the world of public policy
- Writing regular opinion articles and blogs on key policy areas
- Producing and managing all Bright Blue’s digital media activity
- Managing communications with Bright Blue’s membership
Editorial
- Commissioning and editing content for our quarterly magazine and blog
- Commissioning and editing our essay collections
- Producing and presenting our podcasts and videos
- Shaping, writing and editing our research reports
- Advising and editing the research team on the content and style of all their written work
- Generating ideas and opportunities for our research and analysis to be promoted externally
External affairs
- Engaging with key stakeholders such as civil servants, special advisers, academics, journalists and politicians
- Attending and chairing a variety of Bright Blue events, including roundtable discussions and keynote speeches with high-profile decision-makers and opinion formers
- Attending and representing Bright Blue at roundtable discussions and public events
- Building a network of influential opinion formers and decision makers to contribute to and promote our work
- Supporting Bright Blue’s fundraising efforts
Internal
- Managing staff members and associate fellows
- Contributing to the intellectual capital of the organisation
