FSB is seeking an experienced policy professional to lead on trade, regulation and data. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the policy team of the UK’s leading small business campaigning group. You’ll join a talented, high-functioning and supportive policy team, setting the strategic direction in your policy area, carrying out primary research, and engaging directly with senior stakeholders and influencers.

Small firms must be empowered by well-designed regulation, access to data and, for those that trade internationally, able to import and export easily. These are high profile policy areas within the context of Brexit and Government’s commitment to deregulation.

In this role, you’ll carry out research, seeking the views of FSB members, and produce comprehensive policy reports for publications. You’ll need to provide an authoritative voice to Government, regulators and stakeholders, including BEIS, DIT, DExEU, HMT and Better Regulation Executive and Health and Safety Executive on trade and regulation issues.

The ideal candidate will have proven policy experience gained through employment in one of the following: UK Political Party, UK Civil Service, UK Parliament, policy/public affairs post. They will also have excellent analytical skills, including strong numerical and statistical skills. The ability to present clear and concise information to a variety of different stakeholders is essential.
