CAA Strategy & Policy Department (CSP) leads our corporate strategy and cross-organisational policy development. CSP develops strategy and policy by collaborating and drawing input from subject matter experts across the CAA, whilst constantly improving the breadth and quality of the evidence we use to make decisions. Current activities include driving forward work on airspace modernisation, the launch of a new innovation hub, consumer policy development and expert environmental research and analysis.
The Associate (CAA Strategy and Policy) will support the development and delivery of policy and strategy across the CAA, through a contribution of knowledge, experience and advice. These include developing plans to modernise the UK’s airspace, working closely with government and industry to implement policy to deliver the first substantive update to our airspace since the 1950s. This role will also include the management of the CAA’s bi-annual aviation consumer survey ensuring it’s aligned to support CAA priorities, managing the survey supplier contract and reviewing supplier performance. You will also be expected to undertake research and draft quality briefings.
We are looking for a candidate who has worked in in public affairs, policy development or consumer research, ideally with practical experience of quantitative and qualitative research methods. You will have excellent communication skills, and have the ability to build, influence and manage relationships, at all levels.
You will be competent in writing succinctly and persuasively for a wide variety of non-specialist and technical audiences, for instance having produced Board papers, policy advice and briefing documents. We are looking for someone with a flexible and adaptable mindset with demonstrable evidence of using their own initiative to deliver in dynamic and changing environments.
