Job Details

The College is looking for an experienced and dynamic project manager to manage the Paediatrics 2040 project, which is developing a credible vision for the future of paediatrics care in the UK.

In this pivotal role you will lead and deliver the project managing each stage and each deliverable to completion within budget, by October 2020.

With demonstrable project management skills, you will also have experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams, managing relationships internally and externally, and working with data and complex information. You will also be familiar with policy development and at ease working with senior figures.

Successfully evaluating performance against the project objectives, you will manage existing project boards and sub-committees, ensuring that there is regular monitoring, that delivery remains on target and any risks are understood. You will also be expected to give presentations as required to a wide audience of people at all levels, demonstrating your ability to understand, discuss and present complex in an easily understood format.

Using your proven experience of producing high quality documentation, you will write regular reports for the College’s Executive Committee and the Council and be responsible for producing the final report with recommendations by October 2020.

Paediatrics 2040 will develop predictions of future child health outcomes to understand what future requirements for paediatric services may look like and identify innovations that will change the way paediatric services are delivered. Using these predictions, the project will develop models of care and a vision of how future workforces can best serve the needs of CYP populations in 20 years’ time and ensure that the RCPCH continues to ensure a healthier future for children and young people.

The RCPCH sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community. We have more than 19,000 members and fellows and employ around 160 staff, most of whom work in our London office in Holborn. We have smaller offices in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
