We are looking for a brilliant press officer who can write high-level content for publication, produce thorough research, and find creative ways to deliver messages under tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Writing high quality op-eds suitable for printing in national broadsheet newspapers
- Producing compelling original content, including written and visual, for social media platforms
- Monitoring and analysis of media coverage
- Drafting emails, letters, articles, blog posts, and briefing notes
- Acting as a point of contact for journalists and other relevant stakeholders
- Prepping high officials for interviews
- Writing materials for a range of online and offline channels and platforms, including official statements and press releases
Key requirements:
- Well-versed in international politics in general, and Middle East in particular
- An academic degree in related fields
- 1-3 years of experience in relevant industries and positions
- If not a UK citizen, must have a work permit/UK visa (valid for at least 2 years)
The suitable candidate should ideally have:
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Deep familiarity with the British media landscape
- Proactivity and a “can-do” attitude
- Creativity and out-of-the-box thinking
- Ability to work under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
- In-depth research and analytical skills
- Excellent organisational skills and keen attention to detail
