Job Details

Clinks supports, represents and campaigns for the voluntary sector working with people effected by the criminal justice system. We aim to ensure voluntary organisations and all those with whom they work, are informed and engaged in order to transform the lives of those in contact with the criminal justice system and their communities.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our highly respected policy team. The Development Officer – Health and Justice plays a key role in delivering Clinks core policy functions across a key thematic area. The role co-ordinates Clinks’ work on health, and manages Clinks’ involvement in the VCSE Health and Wellbeing Alliance. The role also leads on Clinks work on service user involvement.

This post is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract; there is very strong possibility that further funding will be secured. This will allow continuity of this role beyond the fixed term date.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Developing relationships with health commissioners, providers, and voluntary sector partners and identifying strategic opportunities for the voluntary sector in the health and justice landscape.
  • Monitoring and assessing the needs of the voluntary sector organisations in relation to the health and justice landscape, and identifying and developing ways to meet these.
  • Increasing services users’ and their advocates’ awareness of the rights of service users, how to enforce these and challenge where they are not met.

We are particularly interested in applications from individuals with experience or knowledge of health in the justice system, prison, probation and people with protected characteristics under the Equalities Act (2010) in the criminal justice system.

Clinks is an equal opportunities employer and individuals with direct experience of the criminal justice system and/or protected under the Equalities Act (2010) are actively encouraged to apply.
