Job Details

Everyone is talking about trade these days – but who will speak out in the debate for the farmers and workers in low income countries who grow the food we eat? You could be Fairtrade’s voice at a time of great change. Fairtrade are now looking for a Policy & Advocacy Manager (maternity cover) to lead vital public policy work on the role of trade and business in addressing poverty, and to support our parliamentary and government relations work. If you can bring the right mix of policy expertise, political insight and influencing skill, this is an opportunity to make a real difference.

Working as a key member of our well-regarded Policy Team, you’ll be responsible for leading our advocacy work on trade policy and the role of business in poverty reduction. You’ll also look after important government and parliamentary relationships, building support across political boundaries. You’ll already have a good understanding of relevant policy issues, and be keen to build expertise in new and emerging policy areas. You’ll be able to cut through the noise with clear and compelling verbal and written communication, getting Fairtrade’s messages through in ways that are strategic, influential, and which reflect the priorities of Fairtrade farmers and workers. Staff at all levels across Fairtrade will look to you for expert advice to inform their areas of work.
