We need someone to help us plan for the future and support our work as a council and with key partners to make this happen.

You will lead research of local and national issues within our new Strategic Insight function to develop evidence based policy and strategic planning to support the council in its drive to continually improve services and value for money for local residents.

As well as a background of working in a strategic policy function within local government you will have excellent analytical and drafting skills, possess a wide range of interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex messages in a succinct way to a range of audiences.

The team also coordinates Scrutiny as well as the work the council does with its partners and you will be able to gain experience in partnership working in this role.

You will not be deskbound in this role and will rise to the opportunity to build relationships within the organisation at all levels.
