In April 2019, Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now united to create one charity for everyone affected by breast cancer. From research to care, our new charity has people affected by the disease at its heart – providing support for today and hope for the future.

The roles

Senior Policy Officer 1: You will lead on key policy areas, including medical research policy, helping to ensure an environment that supports the investment that we, and others, make in breast cancer research, and that the results of this research are quickly translated into clinical practice.

You will develop evidence-based positions and recommendations, and build strong relationships with key external stakeholders. You will act as a source of expertise across the organisation and externally, working with colleagues to support the development and delivery of influencing strategies in line with policy positions, and developing contacts and relationships to increase the charity’s profile.

Senior Policy Officer 2: You will have the opportunity to develop the charity’s local policy and evidence activities to identify and address local challenges in the provision of breast cancer services.

Leading on key policy areas, you will develop evidence-based positions and recommendations, and build strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including Cancer Alliances and healthcare professionals. You will act as a source of expertise across the organisation and externally, working with colleagues to support the development and delivery of influencing strategies in line with policy positions, and developing contacts and relationships to increase the charity’s profile.

Public Affairs Officer: You will lead on the development and implementation of public affairs and influencing plans and activities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. You will build relationships with politicians and relevant policy makers and influence directly on behalf of the charity at external meetings. Acting as a source of expertise across the organisation and externally, you will work with colleagues to support the development and delivery of influencing strategies in line with policy positions, and developing contacts and relationships to increase the charity’s profile.
